It’s not every school year that my son is included at the top list, like last year he wasn't on the honors list. But this time he will, my son got paid off to all of his hard work and effort in school. I always make sure that I can help him in every exams and quiz in school but still it’s up to him to give his very best at the class.
We will surely have a celebration because it’s a milestone for him. I know that he finds it difficult to focus in studies, but he made it anyway. This summer he will try to enroll in music lesson particularly guitar lesson using bach stradivarius from guitar center to include in his list of talent and skills. My hubby wanted to make sure he can use his time mostly in polishing talent, which I always agree.
Meanwhile, like most proud parents do I already bought a dress for this event and glad that it was affordable while my son will only dressed in their school uniform. I am showing him how proud and excited I am every time he got honors so he will strive always in school.
Showing your appreciation to your child is important; it drives him more to push the boundary of his knowledge into test and acquired it. I may not consistent honor rolls back in my time, but I remembered that my mom didn't mind if I'm smart or not so I guess that gives me an idea to be just average like everyone else. I don't want my son to feel the same way I did before; I make sure that he gets the message of how proud I am for his work.
